Group Assignment [Ipoh, Perak's cuisine]

The above flow chart is the whole idea for the website of my assignment 3, which is a group assignment

At the homepage, there will be 3 links available to click in

'About the blog', 'The Food' and 'Gallery'

The objective of doing the website will be stated under 'About the blog'

And information of the group members doing this assignment will also be listed inside

Under 'The Food', 5 links are available to click in

Each link represents 5 different types of Ipoh's cuisine

'Snacks', 'Ipoh bean sprouts chicken', Ipoh 'Hor Fun', Ipoh White Coffee and 'Dim sum'

For the part 'Gallery', we will upload images of the food we have selected to let people know more about the particular food

Each member will come out with their individual flow chart which is more detailed under the
part she is in charging

This flow chart is for my individual page, which is about snacks in Ipoh

I have picked the top 3 snacks which are highly recommended for tourists to try out when they visit Ipoh

Hiong Piah, Tau Fu Fah and Kaya Puff

I will briefly talk about the summary, history and the making process of the snack under 'introduction' partAs for recommendation, I will select one retail and provide information such as the contact number of the retail and where is it located

Due to one of our group member has withdrawn from this subject, therefore me as the leader of the group will take over the part she was incharging, which is Ipoh White Coffee

Below is the flow chart for the extra part I am incharging

Same as for the snacks, I will provide information about Ipoh White Coffee and recommend the places to try the famous Ipoh White Coffee 

Photo retouching and enhancing

I'm not a fast learner. That's why even though I tried to read through the e-book that has been provided before going to class, yet still couldn't really catch up.

Have been struggling few days in doing photo retouching and enhancing my work, and I couldn't follow what my tutor, Madame Lydia has taught in the class yesterday.

I was so upset and really feel like giving up. It's hard for me!

I've sought for consultation from Madame Lydia yesterday, and she asked me to change my design of the e-wallpaper so that it looks more attracting.

Well, I'm actually run out of time because the deadline for submission was yesterday before 12am!

Kinda worried because yesterday afternoon I was working, and I'll only be available around 9pm.

I only left around 3 hours to change my design and do eveything all over again!

Oh can someone give me some unique idea? Can someone help me on my work?

I found out that none of my friends are willing to help me. Perhaps they're also in trouble?

Well guessing doesn't make my progress on my work goes smoothly, therefore I continue my work so that I can upload my finished work before time's up.

To make my e-wallpaper more attracting, I remove the layer of FOM building

Next, I add in another layer, which is the new background that I've chosen, and move the logo, slogan and words.

I changed the font for the wordings for 'FOM OPEN DAY', the date and 'MULTIMEDIA UNIVERSITY' which is at the side.

For the next step, I've edited the colour by using Color Balance

Under Image, Adjustments, I chose Shadows/Highlights to edit the colour

My sister walked by and commented on my work. So I again changed the design of the font for the wordings.

Feels like adding in more pigeons, but couldn't find a suitable one in a short period, therefore only added in one pigeon.

I added in the website link at the bottom too. 

Was planning to do something on the e-bee, therefore I added shadow and make the e-bee glow.

Oops! I found out that I never edit the slogan properly! I can see some lines beside and below it. So, I used vanishing point and Stamp Tool to edit the blemish.

And finally, my e-wallpaper is done =D

Layering

I've learnt something new in week 2! Let's see the progress on my work!

First, I search for a film strip as design and edit it by using Rectangular Marquee Tool and Magic Wand Tool

Secondly, I drag the FOM building that I've edited previously by using Move Tool and press down Shift to change the size proportionately.

Next, I rename all the different layers.

Then I used the Text Tool to add in wordings, and my job is done! 

Selection

I was doing selection using photoshop! 

It takes quite a long time for me becasue I'm really still not used to this software =\

Here it goes......

Firstly, I opened up the Adobe Photoshop CS4

Then I clicked File on the menu bar, clicked New, and chose international paper-A4 size 

Next, I opened up the file in my computer that I have chosen for the e-Wallpaper

Then I clicked 2 up under arrange documents

So I can view two files at the same time! 

Next, I used Rectangular Marquee Tool to draw a rectangular shape on the part that I need

And used Magic Wand Tool to select the bee 

I also used Quick Selection Tool to select the bee properly 

After that, I used the Move Tool to move the selected bee to the new file

When I done with the bee, I opened up another file to do selection 

Using the same way, I first make these two files to be visible on the screen at the same time 

And same tools to select the logo of  Multimedia University 

Lastly move it to the file with the bee 

It goes same for the slogan of Multimedia University 

Now, it's turn for Faculty of Management building 

I used Pen Tool to select the area I need 

And copied a new layer out 

I chose not to let the old layer to be visible, so that I can get rid the sky 

And the same thing, move the selected part to the new file 

And this is my finished selection image!

Hello everyone!
I'm JJ~~
I'm from Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
I will be officially 20 years old in coming August
I'm quite weak in English, but my Chinese is very good.
I love sports! Among so many sports that I've join, squash would be my favorite =D
Other than that I'm also talented in baking and cooking, as long as it's about making something to eat or drink.

I'm currently studying in Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, majoring in Marketing with Multimedia.
I created this blog because I've registered for Digital Media 1, under tutorial session BC271C, and this is part of my assignment.
I'm happy because actually I wanted to learn photoshop and others long time ago, but I can hardly understand the correct way if there is no one guiding me.
And now, the chance is here for me!
I really hope that I can adept this software so that I can make my company's catalogue to be more attractive!
And surely that after I know the way to use Adobe, I can use it in my future life.
This will only brings me benefits =)
